Hello! It’s time to bring this blog back to life.
My name is Jacob, and I lead engineering teams working on products where data, software delivery, and business outcomes are tightly connected. I still have a backend background, with .NET, Azure, distributed systems, and analytics platforms somewhere in the mix, but I do not want this blog to be only about specific tools or frameworks.
What I am most interested in now is AI.
Not in the abstract, buzzword-heavy way. I want to focus on practical AI: how developers, tech leads, and engineering managers can use it in real work without pretending that it magically replaces experience, product thinking, or engineering judgment.
I have been experimenting with LLM-assisted workflows around code review support, log analysis, lightweight automation, documentation, planning, and turning unclear product context into something a team can actually build. Some of it is already useful. Some of it still needs a healthy amount of skepticism. That balance is exactly what I want to write about.
What I want to write about here:
- Practical AI workflows for software teams
- What LLMs are good at, and where they still fail
- Better ways to review code, analyze incidents, and automate repetitive work
- Engineering leadership in a world where tools are changing quickly
- Keeping quality, ownership, and clear thinking while moving faster
I will still write from the perspective of someone who builds and leads engineering teams, so there will be some backend, architecture, data, and Azure context from time to time. But the main thread will be AI and how it changes the way we build software and lead teams.
